Please “like” the Jon Sawyer Racing fan page and show your support!
Kyle dropped the frame off to get blasted and powdercoated today. Ordered a new body and the motor is already at the builders getting freshened. Now if we had some sponsors to help pay for this stuff??? Any potential marketing partners listening?? In 2011, Kyle competed in 45 races this year finishing 3rd in ASCS Warrior Region points and won the series "Rocket Passing Points." Kyle finished the year with 2 wins, 14 top 5's, and 28 top 10's. A huge thanks all our fans for their support and to all of our sponsors : Christian County Collision, PPG, Colorvision, Mike and Melissa Schure at Schure Built Suspensions and Patriot Race Engines. A special thanks to Jerry and Jeff Smith for letting me wheel their #86 and Justin Page and Jeff Todd for all of their hard work at the track! We still have a few black and green 2011 KBR race t-shirts for $15, a limited amount of KBR hoodies for $25, and the Kyle Bellm/Smith Racing t-shirts for $20. Stay tuned for announcements for the 2012 race season... The race season is in full swing, and Kyle has been HOT! Highlighted by his first win of the season at Lake Ozark Speedway on May 23, 2011, in the Smith Racing 86 car, Kyle has several podium finishes and is consistently knocking down top fives and top tens. He is currently in first place in the 2011 Point Standings at Lake Ozark Speedway. With a very aggressive schedule ahead of him, Kyle is looking to get plenty of seat time and opportunities for more wins and great finishes. Check out Kyle’s updated schedule on the website and also check out the new Kyle Bellm Racing shirts. Call, e-mail or get with Kyle at the track to purchase your shirts. The 2011 Season is has begun with an exciting 3rd place finish at in Little Rock last weekend! Kyle is going to be driving the #86 Sprint Car for Smith Racing out of Columbia, Missouri this season. Their plans are to run the full schedule with the ASCS Warrior Region with races in Wheatland, Sedalia, Lake of the Ozarks, Springfield and Kansas City, as well as several others. Also it looks like they will be running with the Sprint Invaders, with races primarily in Iowa and Illinois. A schedule will be posted soon. Kyle’s goal is to run top 5 every week and contend for the championship points for ASCS Warrior series. Additionally, Kyle will continue to race the Bellm Motorsports 14K car at several local, regional and ASCS National Events on weekends that do not conflict with the scheduled events with Smith Racing. The 2010 racing season has come to an end with Kyle running awesome and looking forward to next season already. We feel like we gave away the first part of the season by making too many changes to the car and not really getting a race package together that worked for Kyle. That finally changed in July, and as the weather got hot, so did Kyle. From July 3 onward, Kyle was one of the fastest cars on the track week in and week out. The season from there on was highlighted with many heat race wins, dash wins, top 10 and top 5 finishes, including finishing 3rd with the ASCS at Coffeyville and also at the big Cowtown Sprint Nationals in Texas. One of the most exciting nights of the season was Kyle's first 360 Sprint Feature win on July 17 at Lake Ozark Speedway. Keep watching for a potential big announcement concerning Kyle's 2011 season! The 2010 season is almost upon us and Kyle and Bellm Motorsports are ready for action. The Kistler Engine has been freshened up and a new J&J chassis with several new updated parts has Kyle revved up and ready to go racing. Also we have a new exciting paint scheme and color with the help of PPG and Colorvision. Let us know what you think when we get the pictures posted. Our 2010 schedule is now posted and we are especially excited about how many races we can run and still not travel too far. Sprint car racing is thriving as never before in Missouri and the racing and competition will be tough and exciting! In the off season Kyle had an opportunity to go back to his racing roots and race a 500cc Winged Outlaw Kart for Rod Baird at the Indoor Springfield Fairgrounds arena and came away with two exciting feature wins. The 2009 racing season has come to an end for Bellm Motorsports. Some of Kyle’s accomplishments for 2009 include finishing the ASCS Sooner Region series 4 place in Championship points with 8 top 10 and 4 top 5 finishes. We would like to thank Colorvision , PPG, and Christian County Collision for their support in making this possible. With the 2009 season complete, work is already underway preparing for 2010. Our biggest challenge is to obtain more sponsors for this racing season. Kyle has been racing a 360 sprint car for 3 years and shown that he has the skill and ability to be competitive with the top drivers in the nation. He is a quality person who has earned the support and respect of both fans and competitors, and we are confident that with the support of quality marketing partners, he will be a consistent contender for race wins and championships. The teams that are finishing ahead of us in points are the teams that are better funded, and our goal is to put our team on an equal footing with our competitors. For 2010, Kyle intends to run a true “Outlaw” type schedule, dividing his efforts by racing weekly at Lake Ozarks Speedway in Eldon, Missouri as well as running selected events with the Winged Outlaw Warriors and ASCS Sooner and ASCS National.tours. We will also make the trek to Knoxville Raceway for several events. These plans will become more formalized and posted on our website once all the series announce their full 2010 schedules. We would like to thank all of our fans for their support and encouragement through the 2009 season and let you all know we will be well prepared to have a great 2010 season! The month of June was just okay for Kyle. He had some decent runs despite struggling off and on with a fuel gremlin: 6th in Lebanon with the WOW, 4th in Springfield with the ASCS, and 4th in California, MO. This trend continued into July with engine issues at Oklahoma City, but then a decent run the next night at Lawton. Kyle was looking good running in the top 5 and making a pass for 4th when the car he was passing slipped and came down, hitting his front tire, causing it to go flat, and ending a good night. After that weekend, Kyle took the car down to Wells Racing in Dallas, Texas to run the car on their chassis dyno where they finally found our fuel problem. We are still kicking ourselves for not having done this much sooner. With the car running better, we went to the Creek County ASCS race, coming home 9th. Kyle was running much faster than that making several passes, but with a caution just before the final lap, he was forced to drop back for the restart. The next night we decided to go to California, MO to run with the WOW. Kyle won his heat race and led the first 17 laps of the A main, even with several cautions each time that gave competition a shot at Kyle. Then, after a caution and restart during lap 17, the second place car of Randy Martin made a bonsai slide job pushing Kyle up to the wall, which knocked Kyle’s right-front tire off the bead. Again Kyle is running strong and looking very competitive, he just needs to have some luck. We are looking forward to the remaining ASCS Sooner races along with the upcoming ASCS national events at Lake Ozark and Wheatland. Kyle's month of may started slow but finished strong. Tri City on 5-1-09 was a rain out. On 5-7 Kyle raced at OKC Fairgrounds track for the first time. He took the lead in his heat race at the end of lap 1 and pulled to a half straight away lead by lap 4 when a caution flew. On the re-start the engine stumbled and he was passed by 2 cars and finished 3rd. In the B we had the stumbling issues still and pulled off the track. The next night at Devils Bowl Kyle flew to a 2nd place B Main finish. Putting him 18th in the A. He charged into the top 10 before the halfway point when his engine stumbling problem started in again hurting him on re-starts but he still maintened the 11th spot until running out of fuel with 2 laps to go. We have had this fuel delivery/stumbling issue off and on all season. We have pulled the motor and fuel system and are having it checked over. Meanwhile we have installed our backup engine for the next few weeks. With our back-up engine in Kyle went to Lake Ozark speedway on 5-23-09. In the heat race Kyle charged from 8th to finish 2nd and lining up 6th for the A main he finished a strong 3rd. The next night at the WOW race at California Kyle started 8th again in the heat and finished 5th. In the A Main Kyle charged from a 15th place starting position to a solid 5th place finish which could have been even higher had his brakes not gone out near the end of the race. Hopefully Kyle can continue this momentum into the upcoming races. |
