Bellm Takes Aim at Hockett/McMillin Memorial this Weekend!

Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (September 19, 2018) – Kyle Bellm and the Nixa, Missouri-based No. 14k Sprint Car team take aim at another $10,000 winner’s share close to home with this weekend’s Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour “Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial” at Wheatland, Missouri’s Lucas Oil Speedway.

The three-day tilt for the Greenworks Nursery/Landscapes Awarded Sprint Car team unfolds over the course of Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

“I’m excited for it,” the driver of the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care machine commented. “If the weather will hold, I think we’ll have a good weekend.”

Fans will also have a chance to update their Kyle Bellm race wear with new tee shirts available for purchase this weekend.

After some rough luck early in the season, Bellm has been on point since aboard the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision entry with his three triumphs on the season coming in his most recent dozen starts.

And, despite missing some events, Bellm enters the weekend ranked third in ASCS Warrior Region points with a pair of series wins among his 2018 triumphs.

Racing to 11 top-ten finishes in his last 14 starts aboard the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions/Schaeffers Racing Oil entry, Bellm looks to build upon that with this weekend’s tripleheader at Lucas Oil Speedway.

“Obviously we want to win,” Bellm says. “But the way the format looks, if we can just run top eight to ten on both Thursday and Friday then we should be sitting good for Saturday night. And that's definitely attainable.”

Bellm, an ASCS Speedweek runner-up finisher at Lucas Oil Speedway in 2015, had his evening cut short by mechanical problems in his only previous start atop the Wheatland clay oval this year.

“It’s been a while since we’ve had much luck at Lucas Oil, but I feel like we’re on the right track now,” Bellm concludes.

Bellm will be looking to add to the win column this weekend, particularly in Saturday night’s $10,000-to-win Hockett/McMillin finale.

2018 Quick Stats: 27 races, 3 wins, 12 top-fives, 17 top-tens.
