Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (October 26, 2018) – Kyle Bellm and the Nixa, Missouri-based No. 14k Sprint Car team look to finish out the 2018 season with this weekend’s Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour portion of Creek County Speedway’s “Fall Fling” near Sapulpa, OK.
Originally scheduled as a two-day stand, it will now be a Saturday only event after wet weather forced the cancellation of Friday night’s portion.
It has been an impressive season for Bellm and the Greenworks Nursery/Landscapes Awarded team. Bellm looks to finish it out on a strong note.
“We want to get in another strong night and get some momentum going toward next season,” Bellm says. “We have had a couple of good showings at Creek County this year, so we feel good going into it.”
Bellm and the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care team have been lightly raced since August with scattered inclement weather and the impending arrival of he and wife Kara’s second daughter.
“I think we have only raced six or seven times since the beginning of August,” Bellm says. “We had hoped to get in two more good nights, but we’ll take one.”
Overall, Bellm is pleased with the success of the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision entry over the 2018 season.
“We have been fast every time out, I think we definitely have something to build upon for the 2019 season,” Bellm explains.
In just 30 starts this season, Bellm has picked up three feature wins aboard the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions/Schaeffers Racing Oil entry among 13 top-fives and 18 top-tens.
Bellm looks for a fourth win on the year to close out the season on Saturday night at Creek County Speedway.
