Bellm Set for Hockett/McMillin Memorial after another Top Five

Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (September 21, 2017) – Kyle Bellm continues to pick off top five feature finishes aboard the Resource Asset Management Solutions (RAMS) No. 14k Sprint Car, landing a fourth-place run at last Saturday night’s ASCS Warrior Region event at Lake Ozark Speedway.

After back-to-back top-fives at Lake Ozark, attention shifts to Wheatland, Missouri’s Lucas Oil Speedway for this weekend’s Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial event.

“This is one we look forward to each year,” the driver of the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision entry said of the $10,000-to-win Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event that takes place over the course of Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Bellm welcomes a pair of new marketing partners for the weekend as well with Greenworks Nursery and Landscapes Awarded, both of Highlandville, MO, joining on as primary sponsors for the event. Information regarding Greenworks Nursery is available at http://www.greenworksnursery.com/ with information pertaining to Landscapes Awarded at http://www.landscapesawarded.com/.

The Nixa, MO, racer added his 17th top-five finish of the season last weekend at Lake Ozark Speedway aboard the Kannady Racing Engines/Heidbreder Foundation Service machine.

After a scramble at the start of the feature, Bellm moved back and forth among the top five before ultimately settling for fourth at the stripe aboard the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions entry.

“On the original start we got three wide with me in the middle,” Bellm says. “It was just too many cars going for the same piece of track, the guy on the outside got the short end of the stick. It was an unfortunate deal.”

After dropping back a couple of positions, Bellm battled back to challenge for the point along the way in the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care machine before settling for fourth at the line.

“I drove an impatient race,” Bellm sums up. “I slid the leader too early and cost myself some ground.”

It was still another strong finish for the No. 14k Sprint Car team. “It’s another top five, we’ll take it,” Bellm says.

Bellm looks to add to that top-five total and perhaps to the win column as well over the next three nights at Lucas Oil Speedway.

2017 Quick Stats: 32 races, 5 wins, 17 top-fives, 18 top-tens.
